New Year's Resolutions can be tough. I have quit making them, except to say that I want to keep my attitude positive and stay hopeful for a great year! Part of what that means for me is... to take it one step at a time. Regarding an organizing project, you may be saying to yourself "I have no idea where to even start." That's where I come in to help take that first step! Whether it is your paper clutter that is out of control, or maybe your closet is so full of stuff you can't even see what you own anymore...I can help you gain control of the chaos and clutter. Even in a two hour session, you will feel so much better about accomplishing something that has been so daunting, you may even be losing sleep over it. Every January I follow Professional Organizer, Peter Welsh, on his Facebook page and share his daily challenges with my clients. Check it out for an easy way to get motivated. He is the guy on TLC and Rachel Ray. To get helpful hints from me, like my Facebook page! Happy Organizing!!! I know that when I'm feeling stressed about the holidays (planning the meals, arranging for family visits, shopping for gifts, and the rest), the thing that helps me, is to sit down with my planner. Really, it's anything that will help me get it out of my head and come up with a plan of attack. Once I have my lists of what is needed, then I can figure out when I have the time to carry out my plan.
Making gifts? Break it down into bite sized peices and put it on a calendar. Shop for supplies, make the gift, package the gift and deliver. When these steps are in your planner, you are in control, and chaos is not a part of it. Busy, yes, but not chaos! Sending out Cards? Make the list of recipients (include the address on this list). Then figure out when you want the card to arrive. Plan accordingly. Give yourself plenty of time to write personal notes...SO much better to get a card with a short note than just a signature! Having company? Get the guest room ready way ahead of time. Even make the bed with fresh linens a few days before your guests arrive. It will be much less chaotic on the day they arrive. Share your ideas to relieve Holiday Chaos. |
